Your Pipe & Drape Rental Guide

Our pipe and drape systems are extremely versatile and can be used for a variety of events. By understanding the different components of a pipe and drape system, you can quickly put together your rental order with ease.

We’ll begin with the bases, which can come in stunning silver or sleek black, depending on how you want it to pop at your event. Custom base covers can be provided in over a dozen color options. The bases come with their own components, which are pins for connecting the base to upright supports. For some extra stability, we can offer our heavy weight 65 pound bases or sandbags if needed.

For the pipes the standard hardware consists of uprights and cross bars. The upright is a verticle pipe which connects to the base. Just like the bases, uprights can come in the same shades of silver or black. We also offer custom upright socks for an added clean aesethic. At the top of the upright is where you connect the crossbar, which is a vertical support rod. The crossbar is the pipe on which we'll hang drapes or backdrops. All these components come in a variety of sizes to accommodate different production needs.

The final component is the drapes themselves, which cover the entire system with style. It might sound easy but correctly and safely installing these systems can be challenging, especially at heights over 12 feet. Our longest uprights reach up to 23 feet so a scissor lift is required for install. You can also rent valance hangers, which allow you to add an extra crossbar to create draped layering. Drapery tiebacks will add an extra touch of class to those layers. Using extra layers can expand your creative choices for designing the display while also adding visual depth.

When it comes to the different components of a pipe and drape system, you have the basics, plus dozens of additional accessories. For example, adding “S” hooks which attach to your existing pipe and drape system and allow you to mount materials such as artwork, branded signage, and banners.

Now that you know all the components, you’re ready to take full advantage of a pipe and drape system at your next production. Contact us today for a quote on your next pipe and drape rental.

Hardware specifications and further details can be found below:

Bases: The base is the foundation of your pipe and drape rental system. Base plates can range from 10 lbs up to 65 lbs depending on your install's height. Optional weights can be rented for additional support.

Uprights: stocked in sizes ranging from 4 feet to 23 feet and adjustable to your exact drapery specifications.

Crossbars: The horizontal drape support rod is also adjustable ranging from 3 feet to 16 feet. The linear footage of your install will dictate the sizing needed. If you're renting weighted drapery a heavy duty crossbar will work best.

Drapery: We stock hundreds of styles, fabrics, and colors to meet any budget needs. If your goal is to mask a large space a lighter and more cost effective drape would work best. If your installation will be photographed or on camera your goal is to rent a more aesthically pleasing drape.

Accessories: Universal support clamps will allow you to attach to any upright for a multi level install with a 3-way connection. You can use it for layering and the same can be done with valances. You can use "S" hooks for mounting signage in front of the drapery. Pole socks and base covers are offered in a wide range of colors. Sandbags and additional weighted base accessories are rented for extended height installations.
